Spotlight: Junior operator laws unfair to teens

Spotlight: Junior operator laws unfair to teens

For many people, the first 16 years of their life all lead up to the monumental and landmark event of gaining the privilege to drive a car.

But since you are being held back by these ridiculous laws saying you can't drive friends under 18 you are out of luck.

Overall, the strict rules enforced for junior operators is ridiculous.

Parents may be appear worried about their son or daughter getting in the car with a brand new driver but in the end they really don't want to drive their kid. This is especially true because most of the time young kids are wanting a ride, it will be to somewhere that their friend is going to also.

And let's face it, long before the end of the six month jol period drivers know how to properly drive. And if that friend has their license it is almost stupid to not lessen the amount of gas, time, and people used up by multiple cars rather than one. There should either be an exception for one or two passengers or a shorter jol time period.

Having passengers in the car can sometimes be helpful. Two to three months would be much more reasonable making it more likely for kids to actually follow this law.
